Rainbow Brite

August 31, 2013

It's the BER month again! I'm pretty sure malls and other establishments will once again put up a lot of Christmas decorations and play Christmas songs that will make everyone feel excited for December 25. And since I feel happy and festive today, I chose to wear this printed dress that I bought from St. Francis Mall years ago (thanks to the garterized design I can still wear it!). I know this is way too far from Rainbow Brite's costume, but she is the first thing that comes to mind whenever I see this dress. Isn't it lovely? I really love the colors that are present in the dress. It makes me think of a lot of looks just for it. But for today, I decided to highlight the color yellow by wearing my yellow belt from SM Department Store and yellow shoes from Payless.

printed dress P300.00-400.00 - St. Francis Mall
shoes P1250.00 - Payless (Comfort Plus)

I really love this pair of shoes that I bought from Payless. I bought it last August 17 and first wore it during the SM Mens Fashion Show at Skydome. I was looking for yellow pairs of shoes or sandals way back but I do not want something that I can wear to work and luckily, Payless answered my wish! This Comfort Plus line is something that I might end up collecting since aside from the fact that their shoes are comfortable (they are made with cushions inside), they also come in different colors! You might want to check them out the next time you go to the malls since Payless branches are like in every big malls now.

By the way, thanks for all my sis who greeted me here. It was really awesome to have met all of you through blogging. I hope we can do a meet up one day. Happy Sunday to everyone!

SM Kids Fashion: Street Style Fashion Around the World

August 29, 2013

Hi everyone! SM Kids Fashion has a good news for mommies (or big sisters like me) out there ! If you have kids at home that are 2-14 years old, series of Fashion related events will be held starting tomorrow until September 1 at Megamall Trade Hall 2. I'm sure your kids will love this event since its their chance to meet some of the toon characters such as Garfield, Betty Boop and Robby Rabbit, as well as some of the kid celebrities from Going Bulilit (I hope Clarence will be there haha)! There will also be a photo shoot wherein they can experience being a model for a day if you present a single receipt purchase from the partner brands. It will definitely be a memorable day for them! So free up your schedule this weekend and hope you will have a fun time attending SM Kids Fashion: Street Style Fashion Around the World event. Have a fun Friday!

Figlia Shoes

August 27, 2013

Since I still don't have work for today, I suddenly had this urge to organize my shoes in our shoe cabinet. I still use the original boxes when I bought them (unless the boxes are already deformed or torn), to I was surprised that I still have these two pairs of shoes that I bought way back.

I remember that I only used this pair of brown pumps from Figlia once so, it's no wonder that they still are in good condition even after three years. I bought them because I find the design really cute and girly, plus the fact that it was on sale that time. The original price of this pair is Php1299.00 and I only paid Php699.00. Not bad right? I've made up my mind to use it again in the office. At least when we have client visit so it will not continue to gather dust in the cabinet anymore.

These black pumps are way older than the pair above. If I remember it right, I bought them around 2006 (7 years!), the time when I was into wearing slacks in the office. This was also on sale when I bought it and the original price was Php1699.00. And because of the discount, I ended up paying Php899.00 only. What I like about this pair is since it is made of leather, the shoes are still in good condition even if I overused them before. You only need to apply polish and they will shine like new again.

I might check Figlia brand in Megamall when I have the time this week just to see how their products evolved in terms of style and design. Since I personally own items from them, I still consider this brand as one that can withstand time. So if I find a pair that would appeal to me again, I think I won't hesitate to buy from them again.

How about you? Do you have a list of brands that you like because they produce durable shoes? Let me know by sharing your thoughts in the comments section below. Have a nice day!

Budget Outfit: Thankful (Birthday Post)

August 26, 2013

Another year has been added to my age today! One year has passed and I'm really happy that after eight months, I've already checked some items on my To Do List for 2013. And one of those that I consider a major task is making this blog active again! It's almost five months already since I decided to make my blog something regular. And I am glad that even though I only share simple things and ideas here, there are readers (which most of the time turn out to be good online friends) who appreciate reading them and would even write sweet and encouraging comments on my blog. You just don't know how truly grateful I am for that. I'm thinking of giving even a small giveaway to show my gratitude, but I'll post about it after I finalize what gift will I give then. What if I make a "guess my age" contest? Can anyone of you guess my age correctly? Though I hope your answers will put a smile on my face haha! In any case, I'll make it a point to post something regarding that before this week ends.

printed top P499.75 - Redhead (SM Department Store)
color-blocked wedges - Parisian
yellow ring P50.00 - St. Francis Mall
arrow ring P105.00 - Forever 21
earrings and turquoise ring P50.00 each - Vente Shop

Now regarding my outfit, since my family and I agreed to go to Sky Ranch as part of our celebration, I opted to wear a set of comfy clothes: printed top from Redhead that I just purchased last week, partnered with this good old pair of white shorts. Don't worry, I only wore these wedges for the sake of these outfit shots. I only wore slippers the entire day since the weather is still unpredictable these times (good thing it only drizzled here in the south this afternoon).

I really love this top that I bought from Redhead. Actually, this top is also available in yellow and orange, but my love for blue is stronger so I purchased this one instead. As you can see, the print and color are screaming of summer, which made my entire day happy and light even though the sun did not really show himself that much today. I also used little accessories since I want my top to be the focus of the entire ensemble. What do you think of this outfit?

To my family, relatives, friends and colleagues who greeted me today (through SMS, FB etc), thank you so much for making my day special! I always consider it a blessing to be remembered by people I treasure the most, which also gave their prayers and wishes as well (hopefully they will all come true this year yey!). I will also keep on praying that you will all be blessed and your life will be filled with joy and contentment. Hope you all had a relaxing and meaningful day today just like me. Take care everyone!

Tee Culture (SM Department Store)

August 25, 2013

Remember my post regarding I Love Manila Shirts from Kultura? Well I had another discovery for budget shoppers out there like me. I was checking some items that are on sale from Girls Teens Wear at SM Department Store when I saw this section of budget-friendly shirts. The brand is called Tee Culture and I got interested with the designs and colors of their shirts when I saw them. But what made me decide to buy some was the fact that shirt material is thick enough given the price of P199.75 each. I even got P100.00 off since they have an on going promo when you buy three shirts. Such a good deal right? I already gave the shirts to my father and my brother and I'm happy that they liked my pasalubong! So if you want to check out other Tee Culture shirts, the brand is available at SM Department Store Teens Section. Have a wonderful day!

Taylor Lautner Meet and Greet @ Glorietta

August 24, 2013

Since I was not able to attend Taylor's Fan Meet at MOA Arena last August 17, I made sure to at least be there at Glorietta the next day so I could at least see him in person before he leaves the country. I am not a big fan of Twilight Saga, but I began liking Jacob Black since I saw his transformation in the second movie. And to be honest, between vampires and werewolves, I always find myself siding with the latter.

Below are some of the photos I took from the event. The people who were able to have a photo opportunity with Taylor were very lucky. The guy was so nice to everyone, asking them their names before he signs the posters, giving those cute kids with big hug. He even went down from the stage to sign some paraphernalia of fans! Too bad my friends and I were at the center haha! Anyway, it was still good experience to finally see him. And it was all thanks to Sir Ben Chan ( who is always very hands on with his company's events) and the entire Bench Family for making this possible. I'm looking forward to the next personality that will continue the #GlobalBenchSetter trend. Don't forget to watch the video at the end of this post. Have a great weekend!

(The girls around me were all screaming!)

August 23, 2013

We still had a bad weather last Wednesday, but since it is a Holiday, my roommates and I decided to have bonding time at a nearby mall. It was really fun since it was so out of the blue that we just all agreed to eat lunch together (for the first time!) and we did some window shopping afterwards. We even planned on having a trip somewhere in the south and I am super excited about it.I promise that I would share with you the things that we will do there (yes, it will involve shopping haha!) when that day comes.

leggings P150.00 - SM Surplus
Flats 2 for P399.75 - Solemate
bracelet P80.00 - St. Francis
ring - Forever 21

I chose to wear something comfortable that day and my only options are the clothes that are left in the cabinet (I haven't gone to our house last weekend). Good thing I have these items and as you can see, the central color scheme here was a little dark (black and gray). Thanks to the pop of color brought by my printed leggings to break the gloomy feel of this ensemble.I also wore my ever reliable Solemate flats since I knew that day would involve a lot of walking. What do you think of this look?

I am so happy that finally, we are able to see the sun! Thank God for a better weather. And I salute all those who have shown generosity and courage to help during this times.

And on another good news, I just wanted to share that I already got ticket to Wicked! I am now more excited for the musical that I started looking up videos regarding this show. Anyone of you who is also watching? See you there if ever! Great day to everyone!
