Review: Compass Luggage

I've never been on a vacation that exceeds 4 days so buying a luggage never came as a need for me. But this month, my Boracay trip was scheduled to be 6 days so I decided that buying one will be more beneficial to me.

I bought this Compass  luggage last May 1 at SM Dasmarinas. It was during the 5-day sale (happening at the same time with the Mega 5-day sale) and I got the luggage with a 10% discount. The original price of the luggage was P2699.75.

Its capacity is 10-15kilos, with a dimension of  56x36x23 (allowed for hand carry). But since I booked for Manila-Caticlan, I purchased an add-on fee for the checked in luggage.

The multi-way wheels is actually the deciding factor for me to buy this particular product. A friend of mine recommended that I only buy luggage with this design so the wheels will no wear out easily.

It also comes with an expansion as seen below (the tag indicates 30% expansion) that will allow you to put more stuff inside. I do not place any valuables when I check in a bag but it is good to have a TSA lock that comes with it.

Bringing it to Boracay already tested the luggage big time. I was wheeling it around in the sands and the not-so-smooth roads there in the island, making me appreciate the wheels' design. And when I was waiting for my flight from Kalibo Airport, it even rained hard! So the luggage was drenched when I picked it up at NAIA.

I'm looking forward to use this luggage again on my next trip!Hope that the product will still make me happy and my life easy. Happy traveling to those who are yet to go on vacation!

  5. Compass bags are such a waste of money... Not durable at all.. My bag broke after only 1 use.. As in only 1 use... Worse is they said that it has a lifetime warranty, yet they are charging 450 pesos for replacement of the broken part_ the bracket that holds the wheels... How can they charge an amount if it is their fault that their itens are not durable and sturdy.. I would understand if they will charge an extra fee if i have used the item at least more than once..

    1. Hello Catherine,
I have been searching the net for the service center of Compass in Manila to no success. Do you still have their number and address? My Compass luggage handle got broken and I need to have it fixed. Appreciate any help. Thanks.

  6. Last year, I bought a buddy bag with Compass as its brand name. It doesn't easily drench and water does not come inside easily during light to normal rain. I used this during my overseas trip. Fortunately, the bag is still okay, I just bought it for 500 pesos or less at SM North.

Hi Ms. Sally, is your Compass luggage in this post still okay? I just bought a Compass luggage yesterday (different model). It has the same features as your luggage but has a 20kg normal capacity and its zipper is puncture resistant.

    1. Hi Jien!

Sorry for the super late reply. I really need to improve on replying immediately to readers.

Yes, my luggage is still in good condition and i normally use it when i travel for more than 3 days (so it is convenient). Haven't check the newer models though but i am sure they are going to be sturdy, too! thanks for dropping by :)
