Budget Shopping: Select Comfort (Pillows) and Sleepmaster (Bed Sheet Set)
One of the things that you will learn or will develop an interest when you start owning a property (or at least living independently) is to shop things that will enhance your new space. Ever since my family moved to a different house, I have acquired this fascinations to furnitures, appliances and items that will enhance or make the new "crib" comfortable. Living independently for almost half a decade also just leveled it up and so far I can say that for all of my home needs, SM Department Store has been a reliable place. And for today's post, I am sharing with you the two brands that made me happy recently: Select Comfort and Sleepmaster.
I was thinking of buying new set of pillows as the ones I was using did not have the same support when I bought them. They were with me for two years anyway, which according to this article from Goodhousekeeping website, is the recommended life span of pillows prior to replacement. I was eyeing those memory foam type of pillows, but then I did not like the ones that are available in Megamall. I ended up buying these comfy Select Comfort pillows. And the good thing was they were on sale and I bought them for Php249.50 each! The size that I chose was 19" x 28" as I wanted some space for the pillow's thickness when a standard pillow case (20" x 30") is used.
As the tag indicates, the pillow is made of 100% polyester fiber and that it was made in the Philippines! They have been with me for a week and so far I am enjoying the comfort and sound sleep they are providing. They are really soft that I like to just hug them all the time!
I lost count of how many bed sheets I bought ever since I got hooked to this lovely piece, but ever since I started renting a place (I am now staying in a dorm style condominium), this is the first time that I bought a 4-piece fitted set. This brand from Sleepmaster is twin sized one that came with 2 standard pillow cases, 1 fitted sheet and 1 flat sheet. The price vary depending on the size and this particular one is Php325.00. I know most would say that given the price, the material will be too think or will fade easily. Given my rotation of bed sheets and laundry schedule, they have worked for me and I think the previous sets that I bought (I am not sure if I bought one from Sleepmaster before) have been with me for more than a year and half already. Some of them were priced lower than Php325 even as I normally just purchase 3-piece sets before. I have no complains with my budget-friendly buys so far.
So to my readers, anyone who was able to try these brands before? Or do you have a go-to brand that you prefer? Please do not hesitate to share your thoughts in the comments section below. Have a great day!
